A bold pattern from a distance.
Up close, you can see the depth created by the yarn thickness, weave structure, and brushing.

MSC75891 is a yarn-dyed jacquard fabric that uses thick-count weft yarns to express the pattern through its weave structure.

Rather than applying a pattern through printing, the design is composed using pre-dyed yarns and the specific way they are interlaced and woven.

A solid sense of presence created by thick weft yarns

One of the features of the MSC75891 is the use of thick-count yarns for the weft.

By giving it a substantial weight, we have created a thickness and presence distinct from standard shirt fabrics.

It is a material designed for items where the fabric itself serves as the focal point of the design, such as jackets or shirt-style outerwear.

Adding softness through brushing while retaining firmness

Thick jacquard fabrics can often feel overly stiff on their own.

To address this, we applied a brushing process to the finish of the MSC75891.

By lightly raising the fibers on the surface, we have created a texture that feels soft to the touch while retaining the dimensionality and firmness characteristic of jacquard.

The slight fuzzing also softens the outlines of the pattern, giving it a subtle look reminiscent of vintage blankets or rugs.

The distinct character of jacquard: front and back

Because the pattern is built into the weave, the structure itself appears on the reverse side as well.

In contrast to the deep, brushed colors on the front, the back reveals the yarn intersections and the structure of the pattern more clearly.

These differences between the front and back are part of the intrigue of yarn-dyed jacquard, which you don't find in printed fabrics.

Depending on the item, it can be interesting to incorporate designs that partially reveal the reverse side or feature folded cuffs.

A fabric that stands on its own as outerwear

Beyond just having a strong pattern, the goal is for it to function as a complete piece of outerwear when tailored.

For the MSC75891, we aimed to create a material with a strong presence by combining the thickness of thick weft yarns, the pattern created by the jacquard structure, and the soft texture provided by the brushing.

This fabric is highly recommended for autumn/winter items such as the shirt jacket shown in the photos, as well as overshirts and light outerwear.

Additionally, we accept requests for custom patterns.

Please feel free to contact us from the planning stage if you would like to create an original pattern for your brand from scratch or if you wish to express an existing concept through jacquard weaving.
