I would like to share some thoughts on our shirts.
As you know, Uniqlo makes truly wonderful products at low prices. We could never match their quality at the same price even if asked, and in fact, their Extra Fine Cotton shirt is an unbeatable bargain.
On the other hand, our products cost 14,100 yen (tax included). While that may feel very expensive, we use fabric weaving techniques not adopted by major apparel brands, and the fabric density is quite substantial.
Various innovations are also incorporated into the process known as fabric finishing. To be honest, this is so inefficient and costly that for major companies like Uniqlo, it is not a matter of "cannot," but a matter of "choosing not to" pursue this level of quality.
We continue to craft products in the same shirt category precisely to challenge our reason for existence. Moving forward, we will continue to pursue and produce quality that major manufacturers, even if they wanted to, choose not to pursue due to their focus on efficiency.
