Native-Inspired Fabric Made with Heavy Organic Cotton Yarn
This fabric is an original textile made with heavy-count organic cotton yarn, featuring a natural uneven dye effect created through speck dyeing.
The design is based on native motifs, but it has been carefully balanced so that it does not feel too ethnic or decorative. We developed this fabric with everyday clothing and lifestyle products in mind.
It has enough presence for shirts, enough depth for light outerwear, and enough character for accessories and interior items such as bags and cushions. This fabric was designed for a wide range of uses.

Solid Texture Created by Heavy Organic Cotton Yarn
This fabric uses heavy-count organic cotton yarn.
It is characterized by a rough, substantial presence unique to heavy-count yarn, while also retaining the softness typical of cotton. Unlike fine, smooth fabrics, the fullness and irregularities of the yarn itself are visible on the surface, creating a casual yet strong impression.
When you touch the fabric, you can feel its substantial weight. We aimed for a balance that is neither too thin nor too heavy, making it easy to use as shirt fabric, and versatile enough for light outerwear, jackets, and vests.
It works well as light outerwear in spring and autumn, and as an inner layer in winter, where it can add significant presence. We aimed to create a fabric that gets better with age, adapting to your body and lifestyle over time, offering the joy of "nurturing" it.

Natural Unevenness from Speck Dyeing
One of the major features of this fabric is the use of speck dyeing.
Speck dyeing is a coloring technique that, instead of dyeing uniformly, creates natural shades, variations, and graininess on the surface of the yarn or fabric. In this fabric, speck dyeing adds depth and natural fluctuations to the color.
Up close, you can see subtle unevenness and graininess within the black, brown, and navy, giving it a vintage-like feel. Meanwhile, the white areas of the pattern retain a soft, off-white quality, creating a natural warmth despite the strong contrast.
Because it's a fabric that utilizes the expression of the yarn and the woven structure, rather than just a print, it has surface depth. From a distance, the rhythm of the pattern stands out, and up close, you can appreciate the yarn's texture and the nuanced speck dyeing. We value this dual visual experience.

Color, Pattern, and Weight Suitable for Shirts to Light Outerwear
From the planning stage, we focused on creating a fabric that could be used for both shirts and light outerwear.
Native-patterned fabrics can sometimes have limited uses due to the strength of their patterns. For this fabric, we maintained the pattern's impact while reducing the number of colors and adjusting the tone to make it easier to incorporate into clothing.
The brown color conveys an earthy and calm feel. It pairs well with denim, chinos, and off-white pants, and naturally blends into workwear and outdoor contexts.
The navy color gives a more urban and sophisticated impression. Even when made into a shirt, it doesn't feel too flashy, and provides a subtle patterned accent when worn under plain outerwear or knitwear.
The black color offers the most striking pattern contrast. It creates a strong presence when used for light outerwear or jackets, making it a color that can be the focal point of a styling.
The red-combined color scheme provides a more classic and warm impression. It evokes the feel of blankets and outdoor textiles, making it suitable not only for clothing but also for bags, cushions, and even rug-like applications.
Deployment Image for Finished Products
This native-patterned fabric can be developed into various items such as shirts, CPO jackets, coveralls, vests, easy pants, bags, pouches, and cushion covers.
When made into a shirt, it can be a patterned shirt that stands out on its own. Simply layering it over a plain cut-and-sew or turtleneck can create an autumn/winter ambiance.
When used for light outerwear, the fabric's weight and the pattern's presence are further enhanced. It is a fabric that works well for unlined jackets, work jacket styles, collarless jackets, and vests.
Furthermore, leveraging its balanced thickness and pattern, it is also suitable for small goods such as bags and pouches. Even in small areas, the pattern stands out, making it an easy-to-use accent material for products.
For interior applications, it can be developed into cushion covers or blanket-like items. Especially the red and brown colors are easy to utilize as materials that add warmth to a space.

Original Fabric Development Leveraging Our Own Factory's Expertise
This fabric was not created by simply applying a pattern; its character is formed by the combination of yarn, dyeing, weaving, and finishing.
By using heavy-count organic cotton yarn, we impart a sense of reliability and natural texture to the material. Speck dyeing adds natural, uneven color variations. Furthermore, by adjusting the weight to be suitable for both shirts and light outerwear, we increase its versatility for planning.
What Ueyama Textile values is that the fabric itself has a story.
Not just good looks, but why this yarn is used. Why this dyeing method? What kind of products will it evolve into? We believe that being able to propose with such a background is the strength of fabric manufacturing with our own factory.
Summary
The fabric developed this time features a solid texture from heavy organic cotton yarn, a natural unevenness from speck dyeing, and a practical weight suitable for both shirts and light outerwear.
While leveraging the presence of the native pattern, we adjusted the balance of color and texture to make it easy to incorporate into everyday clothing and lifestyle products.
It is a patterned fabric that becomes more familiar the longer it is used. It is classic, yet easy to incorporate into modern garment making. Such is the balance of this original fabric.
Going forward, we plan to introduce its development into shirts, light outerwear, bags, and interior items, including actual product samples and usage images.
